Description

Map business events to outreach triggers. Define which events warrant immediate contact, what to say when they happen, and how to build event-driven outbound campaigns.

What this skill does

  1. 1Defines 12 core business event triggers (new funding, hiring for target role, leadership change, tech stack change, competitor churn, product launch, earnings event, conference attendance, content publication, award, M&A, regulatory change) each with detection method, urgency window, message angle, and target persona.
  2. 2Prioritizes triggers in a ranked matrix when multiple fire simultaneously: competitor churn is #1 (immediate), hiring is #2, first-party signals are #3, leadership change is #4.
  3. 3Builds trigger campaign architecture with a 4-step sequence where Step 1 references the specific trigger and Steps 2-4 use bucket personalization.
  4. 4Designs a hybrid outbound model: pre-qualify a list by ICP fit, monitor for triggers, then send signal-matched messages at the moment of relevance.
  5. 5Produces a trigger map document and SDR playbook with detection sources, urgency windows, and templates for each trigger type.

When to use

  • Moving from list-based batch outreach to event-driven campaigns and need to define which events to act on and with what message.
  • Setting up automation rules in n8n, Zapier, or Clay that fire outreach when a specific business event is detected.
  • Deciding which 3 triggers to monitor first when building a signal-based outbound motion from scratch.
  • Creating a playbook so SDRs know exactly which events to act on, how fast, and what to say for each one.
