1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Retriever (“Service”, “Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), available at retriever.runand associated subdomains, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind such entity. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Retriever is an AI-powered go-to-market software platform that enables users to:
- Search, rank, and filter B2B companies using semantic Natural Language ICP definitions.
- Qualify and score companies against bespoke criteria with explainable AI reasoning and source evidence.
- Enrich company records and export prospective lead tables into CSV, JSON, or connected CRM tools.
We continually evolve and improve our Service. We reserve the right to update, add, modify, or deprecate features or capabilities with reasonable notice.
3. Accounts & Security
To access certain features of Retriever, you must register for an account using your business email or a supported third-party identity provider (such as Google OAuth).
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must immediately notify Retriever at emma@retriever.run if you suspect any unauthorized access or breach of security.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use Retriever solely for lawful B2B sales, marketing, and business research purposes. You specifically agree NOT to:
- Use the Platform or exported data to send unsolicited bulk communications in violation of applicable laws (including CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive).
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or discover the source code or underlying algorithms of Retriever.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service using automated scripts or bots in a manner that bypasses security controls or imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Retriever platform itself as a standalone service without our express written consent.
- Use the Service to transmit malware, conduct security attacks, or violate the privacy rights of any individual.
5. Pricing, Credits & Payments
Free Tiers & Early Access: We may offer free tiers or early access programs with defined search quotas. No credit card is required for free tiers.
Paid Subscriptions: Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or explicitly stated in a custom enterprise agreement.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to your paid plan through the end of your current billing period.
6. Intellectual Property & Data Ownership
Your Data:You retain full ownership of all search prompts, custom qualification instructions, company lists, and data uploaded or generated in your workspace (“Customer Data”). We do not claim any ownership rights over your Customer Data.
Retriever IP: Retriever and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest (including all intellectual property rights) in and to the Platform, user interfaces, documentation, proprietary algorithms, and brand assets.
AI Training Safeguards: We do not use your proprietary customer search data or lead tables to train publicly available AI models.
7. Third-Party Integrations & Google APIs
Retriever may enable integrations with third-party applications (e.g., Google, CRMs, webhooks). Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
When connecting a Google Account, Retriever's use of information received from Google APIs strictly complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. AI Match Scoring & Data Disclaimers
Retriever utilizes artificial intelligence and multi-source public business data to evaluate company fit, provide match scores, and synthesize reasoning.
While we strive for high precision and verifiable citations, business websites, job postings, and company statuses change frequently. AI-generated match summaries and company attributes are provided for informative sales intelligence purposes “as is”. Users should verify critical business facts before making commercial outreach decisions.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RETRIEVER, ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Retriever, its affiliates, officers, and employees from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your breach of these Terms, your violation of applicable laws, or your misuse of exported data.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you materially violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
Upon termination, all licenses granted to you in these Terms will immediately cease, and you must discontinue all use of the Platform.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without giving effect to any conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the competent courts located in Paris, France, and the parties hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue therein.
13. Modifications to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will indicate the date of the latest revisions at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will provide at least 15 days' notice before the new terms take effect. By continuing to access or use the Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms.
